Bhelen is a master of Dwarven politics, and ends up making the dwarf city a better place, but he screws over everyone in his way…. You have to have the Warden, Alistair, and Loghain all deal the final blow to the Archdemon and die for it to count for the Perfectionist achievement. Loghain tries to talk you into allowing him to kill the AD and die, but you have the option to tell him no and do it your self. If Loghain lives, Alistair will leave the Grey Wardens and you, full stop. To become Queen of Ferelden you must first be a human noble, have romanced Alistair, won the Landsmeet vote, and executed Loghain.
If King Alistair dies, Anora will become the new Queen and in her speech will mention that the Theirin bloodline died with Alistair. You can easily talk him up to the point that he would sleep with you the first time you enter the camp. You can even kiss him. Hardening Alistair is not required to become Queen, but can make it easier and players may just want to do it just in case. So yeah get anora, have a good persuade and do the side quest.
BUT at the time of decision you can choose otherwise. If you want Alistair King you should harden him. If you have no interest in making him king do not. If your romancing him as a non human noble he will break up with you if you make him king and do not harden him. I always harden Leliana, She is a bard and she should never have turned away from being a bard.
Being a bard who used to spy on other countries is what she has done probably for a long time. Hardening leliana helps her move on from her life with marjolaine. Sign up for free! User Info: mikesack. Spoilers Anora's a cunning and ruthless politician. Lousy backslider accused me of treason even after I rescued her. User Info: AlphaWhelp. You said you would never drink ale unless it were brought to both of us. User Info: terriblefood. Yeah, the lack of such an option ruined the endgame for me. As far as I'm concerned, there's only one ending for the game, the ONLY one where the whole sequence makes sense and was not haphazardly cobbled together by replacement writers from second grade when apparently the entire BioWare design staff got the flu or hantavirus: SPOILERS 1 Surrender to Cauthrien immediately so Anora never gets a chance to betray you.
That's the worst you can do to her. Spoilers If you give her the throne, she calls for Alistair's freaking execution. I find her character pretty fascinating in that sense. She's subtle, but brilliant. She lies and double talks and manages to manipulate pretty much everyone but her father. I'd like to dress her in bacon, give her a hambone for a weapon, and send her into the Deep Roads. Let's see how angry you'd be if the man who killed your father figure, risked the entire world's safety was not only spared justice, but given the greatest honor you hold dear.
Alistair didn't betray you, you betrayed him and everything he believes in and wonder why he's upset? And what Faux said is quite a good place to start and think Betrayer. Yeah I'd take an immature Alistair over a paranoid-delusional tyrant who nearly doomed the world.
At least Alistair can grow out of it in time. In fact, if you meet him again in Awakening, he's amicable enough despite what happened before. Loghain never really stops believing he was doing the right thing at the time, and his "redemption" arc is undeserved. If an entire nation fell to the blight, it would be exponentially harder to defeat. That's exactly why Orlais wanted to get involved.
